Who we are

Supplier to the food industry

Notim imports, blends and distributes ingredients to the food industry in Norway and Europe. It started with natural casings in 1993 — since then we have gradually expanded our range and today supply spices, additives and customer-specific solutions to food manufacturers.

Food safety is not an afterthought — it is the foundation we build on. Since 2020 we have been FSSC 22000-certified and are audited annually by DNV. In 2026 we are launching Notim Verify — a proprietary compliance portal designed to make it easier to document and follow up requirements across the entire supply chain.

In 2025 we established our own production in China through Yangzhou Langrun, our joint venture. This gives us direct control over the value chain — from the processing of natural casings to finished goods delivered in Lørenskog.

We hold approval from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority for our repacking facility (EFTA 601) and are Debio-certified for organic products. We report under the Norwegian Transparency Act and carry out due diligence assessments in accordance with the OECD Guidelines. As an INSCA member, we contribute to the development of industry standards and regulation.

We hold our suppliers to the same standards as ourselves. Food safety and quality control are a natural part of our day-to-day — our proprietary compliance portal and FSSC 22000 certification help ensure they are deeply embedded in our routines.

Our history

Over 30 years in the industry

1993

Norsk Tarm Import

Staale Eriksen founds Norsk Tarm Import as a sole proprietorship. Import and sale of natural casings to the Norwegian food industry — from day one with a focus on quality and reliability.

2001

Notim AS incorporated

The business is formalised as a limited company. Production and warehousing are consolidated at Solheimveien 40, Lørenskog, and the company adopts the new name Notim AS.

2005

Import from China

Notim establishes its first supplier relationships in China and begins importing natural casings directly from Chinese producers — a step that provides greater control over raw material quality and supply security.

2008

Spices and ingredients

The range expands to include spices, additives and customer-specific blends. Notim grows from a pure natural casing importer into a full-range supplier to the food industry.

2020

FSSC 22000 certified

Notim achieves FSSC 22000 certification — the global gold standard for food safety, recognised by GFSI. The certification covers production of spices and repacking of natural casings, and is audited annually by DNV.

2025

Own production in China

Through joint venture company Yangzhou Langrun, Notim begins its own production in China. With our own people on the ground in Yangzhou, we can apply the same standards to the processing of natural casings as we do at home — and follow up directly.

Responsibility and transparency

Transparency Act and ESG

Notim is subject to the Norwegian Transparency Act and conducts due diligence assessments in line with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. We have full oversight of our supply chain — including in China, where we have our own company and people on the ground.

Our ESG reporting covers human rights, working conditions, environmental impact and anti-corruption. Reports are available on request.
